About Miel
In 2024, following a 12 years history of the UpValley Family Center Promotoras, the UVFC and the group decided to develop and incubate a worker-owned cooperative focused on health education and connection to resources in rural Napa County – increasing health and creating more climate resiliency for underserved populations. This project intended to pursue for the Promotoras the necessary tools and structure to improve their economic security, access new career-building options, and increase the power of their voice and impact in the community. Cooperative members will develop business management and operations skills, access benefits, and receive equitable compensation for their work, skills, and experience.
